Tampa Bay tarpon fishing has it all. We have fish on the beaches in the spring and early summer, with fish then moving inside Tampa Bay into the fall. The dual seasons, mean you can plan a tarpon trip for anytime between about mid April all the way to October and even later in warmer years.
The beach fishing is some of the best to be found anywhere in the world, with schooling fish to 150 pounds common and fish of 200 pound not unusual. We do our Tampa Bay Tarpon fishing with fly, live bait and artificials, such as plugs and jigs. We also fish them under the Tampa Bay bridges, where the thrill of hooking a giant silver king just a few yards from the boat can be a real heart-pounding experience.
A popular pursuit is drifting live pass crabs in the current, and this method accounts for some of the biggest fish we catch. Are the too big for a novice to handle? Not at all. We have the tackle, experience and tactics to ensure you accomplish one of the greatest feats in saltwater fishing - conquering the mighty silver king.
